But, that doesn’t mean that you should spend all of your time applying to every single one of them. This goes back to that list that you made about what you want in a job. Using that as a guide, you can be choosy about where you spend your time and focus mostly on places that have job postings that line up with your needs. You can still apply to some others, but do it sparingly and only when you have the time to spare.

Use your network to find out about openings

Another way to streamline your job searching process is to use your network to help you out. You may have family or friends that work in the industry that you want to work in or that work at the places where you want to work. You may be able to get ahold of them and ask if they know of any openings that you can apply for. This is a great way to get your foot in the door at some companies and you may even be able to bypass the application process altogether and call or email someone directly. You can also use online forums that are specific to your industry or fields to ask if anyone knows of any openings. Sometimes people are hesitant to post their own job openings because they don’t want to deal with the sheer amount of applications that come in.

Try and be flexible with the type of job you’re looking for

What if you’re just not having any luck with your job search no matter what you do? What if you’ve tried all of the suggestions above and they just aren’t working? You may just need to be more flexible with the type of job that you’re looking for. If you’re only applying to positions in specific industries and fields that you’re interested in, but you aren’t having any luck, try and be more flexible with the type of job that you’re looking for. You may just need to broaden your search a bit and be willing to apply to jobs in different fields or industries. This may not be ideal, but it is better than not having a job at all.
